TL;DR – Yes, LIV Golf Singapore is worth it if you love golf.

In March 2025 I got to attend LIV Golf Singapore 2025, and it’s a little bit like if Formula 1 and PGA had a baby. You get the celebrity athletes, glamour, up tempo music, golf teams and sporting drama all squeezed into 54 holes and 3 days while still having the traditional golf rules. Resulting in something louder, younger and way more fun.

Anyhow, in this article I’m going to tell you exactly what the 3 day format felt like on Sentosa Island, the standout player moments, the player interactions, the after concert and my top tips for attending LIV Golf Singapore.

All photos on this page are mine, shot on an iPhone 11 pro. Photos shot by Tessa Leong were using iPhone 14 pro.

How to get there

So there are quite a few ways to get to Sentosa Golf Club. If you are taking public transport, you want to make your way to Harbour Front MRT Station at VivoCity. From there, you take the Sentosa Express monorail to the Imbiah Station on Sentosa (2 stops 4 mins). At Imbiah Station, take the Bus B (6 stops 15mins) to Sentosa Golf Club.

If you are driving, you have to park at the Sentosa Cove Village Car Park. From there, take Shuttle Bus B (13mins) to the Sentosa Golf Club. If you bought the Gallery Club, Club 54 or Liv Premium tickets, you will get a parking pass to park at Car Park A.

For me, I took a cab using Grab (Singapore’s ride share/taxi booking app) and it dropped me off right at the entrance of the Sentosa Golf Club. There was a bit of a traffic jam near the golf course as the roads are small and there were a lot of vehicles going in and out of the area.

LIV Golf Singapore Tickets and Pricing

I bought the regular ground pass ticket for Saturday and it cost about SGD 64 (after sales tax). The regular ground pass ticket gives you access to pretty much everything including the concert on the Saturday and the FanZone.

The ground pass plus gives you access to special viewing platforms at different holes around the course. They cost about double at SGD140. In my experience, the special viewing platforms were not on every hole and it was generally not crowded enough where you can’t see what you want to see.

There are also pricier hospitality tickets give you access to the Gallery Club and Club 54. These are air conditioned lounges that overlook the 18th and 9th holes. They also include all inclusive food and drinks and access to all special viewing platforms. If you’re familiar with Formula 1, it’s basically like the hospitality suites on the main pit straights.

So as you can tell there are lots of ways to experience Liv Golf Singapore but the standard regular grounds pass is more than enough for you to get a good experience.

Entry into Sentosa Golf Club

Once you have arrived, you would have to enter the tent for security checks. It’s similar to most other events with the standard bag checks by security (no airport screening). Once you show them your tickets, they will provide you with a wristband. Take note that you are not allowed to exit the event venue and return even though you have this wristband.

Unfortunately this was where we ran into slight trouble. LIV Golf has a rule where you cannot bring in a digital camera with lenses that are longer than 6 inches, or 35mm cameras that exceed 3 inches.

Having read that information and processed it in our fully functioning brains, we stupidly brought in the Sony a7IV DSLR with a Tamron 28-200mm lens. The lens is about 7 inches long when you fully extend it.

What Cameras are allowed at LIV Golf

Generally these type of lens are prohibited due to distracting other fans and being classified as professional gear used for commercial media. This would conflict with their exclusive broadcast and photo rights etc. To use this type of equipment, you would most likely need media credentials.

But wait the story does not end there, because there aren’t any lockers at the event (before entering the security checkpoint), we had to walk about 30 mins to the nearest lockers which were located at Palawan Beach. Meaning we missed the start of the event as well.

In Summary: Please read the FAQs before bringing anything in!

LIV Golf Experience: Stay at one hole

Once you have entered, it feels a bit like when you first enter Disneyland for the first time. There are so many attractions and things to see you might not know where to begin. If you want to follow the action, there are 2 main methods that you could do with the first one being staying at one hole.

Fans sitting and waiting at hole 12 at liv golf singapore 2025
Fans sitting and waiting at hole 12.

As the name suggests you wait at one hole while the different groups go past. This means that you would get to see every golfer at least once. But which hole and which part of the hole should I sit at? That depends entirely on you. Usually we saw fans either waiting at the tee box to watch their first drives, or at the greens watching their approach shots and putts. With the latter being more often.

Liv Golf Singapore 2025 between holes 8 and 16.
The view between holes 8 and 16. Gives you great views over a large area.

In my opinion, one of the best ways to employ this strategy is to hang about the holes 8 & 16. Or basically the space in-between 2 parallel holes as this allows you to see quite a bit of action all over but at a further distance. The reason why I said holes 8 & 16 was because that area is on a hill, so you would be looking downwards and see more action in your panoramic view.

LIV Golf Experience: Follow a Group

For me, I wanted to be closer to the action, golf stars and didn’t mind walking. So I did method number 2: follow one of the golf groups around. What I ended up doing was to follow one group for nine holes and later follow another group for another nine holes. This method however means you may not be able to see the whole golf course in one day. But if you do it over 3 days you would be able to see everything.

Phil Mickelson, Patrick Reed & Jason Kokrak Group

Watching Phil Mickelson’s bunker shot up close.

The first group we followed was the Phil Mickelson, Patrick Reed & Jason Kokrak group. I’m fairly new to golf but Phil Mickelson was the one name I’ve always heard of and I did not want to miss this chance to see the 6 time major champion in action.

I followed them from hole 2 to hole 8, this lead us to the infamous stretch of holes that had water hazards on one side. I’m not a golf expert but I believe this stretch is really difficult especially the Hole 7 587 yard Par 5. As you have water on the right side and the fairway is quite narrow so you have to be really accurate if you want to use driver and stay in play. It seemed like all 3 of them opted to ‘layup’ which lead to none of them being able to take advantage and make birdie.

Actually I think all three of them rarely made birdies due to the difficulty as we had more groans of agony (when they missed) compared to cheers (when they made birdie). There were quite a lot of fans following this group (although not the most) and most of the cheers and applause was for Phil Mickelson. I did notice as well the fans would start to move on after Phil hit his shot, as if the other two golfers were not there.

Along this stretch there are also drink stalls with tents and sits where you can buy drinks, fill up your water bottles and get some sun screen. Cash is not accepted however so you have to use your cards or Apple Pay. As you can see from some of the photos, it’s quite crazy how you can get really close to some of the golfers and see the action up close.

LIV Golf FanZone

Once we reached hole 8, it was about lunchtime so we decided to head to the FanZone for a toilet break and snack break. The LIV Golf FanZone has a few food stalls, seating areas, games and activities for children and a massive screen where the broadcast was playing.

We ordered truffle fries and some vegan nuggets, slightly pricey which is to be expected from events such as this. But the food was really good despite it being a bit too oily for me personally. And we didn’t have to wait too long to be served too. There weren’t many seats available though, so we decided to follow the next group with our food, as that group was approaching the 8th hole.

Bryson DeChambeau, Tom McKibbin & Marc Leishman Group

This next group was by far the biggest and the loudest with the most fans following. If you are not familiar, Bryson DeChambeau is probably the biggest golf star on social media at the moment with the famous Break 50 challenge and other types of golf challenge videos. All his videos have views in the millions. I started to follow golf because of his Hole-in-One over his house challenge and when I realised that he was in a golf league with teams.

We followed the group from Holes 9 all the way to Hole 12 where they finished. Again I’m not a golf expert, but I think this stretch of the golf course was not as challenging as holes 3 to 7. Mainly because of the lack of a water hazard. But the narrow fairways and lots of trees do make it difficult if you drive ends up in the first cut of rough.

It was slightly harder to get into good spots though to see the golfers inaction, so at some holes we went straight ahead from the tee box to the green, or from the green to the next tee box to try to get a jump ahead of the crowd.

The highlight for me was definitely at the tee box on Hole 11 where we jumped the crowd and managed to get front row box office seats to Bryson taking his drive. Seeing his 190 ball speed swing up close with the familiar ‘smack’ you hear on TV was quite exciting.

By this point we had been walking for about 6 hours and were completely exhausted. After attending this event, I have so much more respect for these golfers who are in the sun (and crazy heat) for so many hours over 3 days. Even the officials, TV crew and helpers around the golf course, I have no idea how they survived.

Also, we watched about 14 of the 18 holes and have yet to figure out where the ball goes after it had been hit.

Get Autographs from Golf Stars!

When the round ends, the golfers and their caddies will shake hands and sign each other’s scorecards. A mini van will also arrive and wait to pick them up. While all this was happening, I started to notice other fans hurrying towards the van. As the golfers were moving towards the vans, fans started to gather around with caps, shirts and memorabilia for them so sign. Of course in this group it was Bryson that was doing all the signing.

The thing that really struck me was actually how few people were asking for autographs. Don’t get me wrong there was a sizeable crowd, but compared to what you see overseas (eg. in the USA) the crowd was relatively small. If you want to get the autographs of some of the biggest golf stars, go on a Thursday or Friday (as most Singaporeans will be working), wait for the end of the round and you will most likely get a chance for an autograph.

Later on as I was walking towards the exit I overheard a family reconvening after splitting up to get signatures from different golfers. If you are strategic and plan well I believe this is one of the best opportunities to get their signatures.

LIV Golf Shop

After the round had ended, there was some time before the concert started, so we decided to head to the LIV Golf shop to check out the merchandise and enjoy the air conditioning. If you bought the basic ground pass ticket, I believe the LIV Golf shop is the only building where you can enjoy air conditioning.

The shop has merchandise from all the teams on LIV Golf like their jerseys, shirts, caps and other golf memorabilia. We did a quick tour of the shop as there were many people inside (probably because of the air conditioning). In terms of prices I would say its slightly under Formula 1 merchandise prices.

If you don’t get your merchandise from the online shop, this might be a good place especially if you want to get stuff for the golfers to sign. The queues for payment are quite long though after the event ends so be prepared to wait.

LIV Golf Concert – Vance Joy

After leaving the LIV Golf Shop, we headed to the concert area. For this event, Vance Joy was playing and they were doing an acoustic set. Their performance was pretty good, although I felt that a rock band with livelier upbeat music would suit the Saturday afternoon vibe.

If you got the regular grounds pass, you won’t have any shelter while waiting and during the concert. So it is advised to get a cap or an umbrella to shield yourself from the sun.

LIV Golf Singapore – Some Tips

Fans waiting at Hole 18 LIV Golf Singapore 2025.

– Go on the first few days (Thursday & Friday) to get the best chances for autographs. Find out which hole the group with your favourite star ends.

– Bring your own Sunscreen! There are some sunscreen stations the course but it’s better to bring your own.

– Bring your own water bottle! There are water dispensing stations around the course so take advantage of that. The drinks carts drinks are pricey (normal for most events).

– Please read their FAQs and list of prohibited items before attending the event. They should email this to you a few weeks before the event.

– There are no lockers at the event venue or at the security checks. So if you brought prohibited items you have to walk to Palawan Beach to find lockers to keep your stuff.

– You are not allowed to exit the event venue and return even though you have the LIV Golf wristband.

Would I recommend it?

Liv Golf Singapore 2025 Hole 9
Watching the action on hole 9.

The most impressive thing for me was that I paid SGD64 for the basic pass and I was able to be so close to the action and golf stars. If I was a bit more bold I could even talk to them or get a high five. If I was more prepared I could have gotten their autographs.

Compared to events like F1 Singapore, you have to pay a fortune to enter the team garages or meet celebrity drivers. And you most certainly are not always able to get this close to the action.
